I had some pictures on my camera that somehow I never posted, so for scrapbooking I need to get them in here....so in random order, here are some old summer pictures...

This was  a summer sciene project thanks to Ellie and Flo (Aunt Florence)...she had tadpoles in her landscape pond and gave us some to grow into frogs...the did well at first but only 2 turned into frogs, I think the small dwelling place in our bucket was hard on them.  But it was really fun to watch them grow back legs, then front legs, then be a frog!

Blogworthy memories....

Our blog book for 2008-2009 is here! And I LOVE it!! I used blurb.com to create it and actually I ended up having my (hopefully) future sister-in-law to help me edit it because it was a longer process than I thought.....AND it was really expensive....$125 (for the biggest book they sell and with 240 pages)...but i wouldn't take any amount of money for it. It is just what I imagined when I started this blog (because this is the sole reason I blog)....so that I can remember all the little and big parts of our lives in words and pictures. I highly recommend printing your blog if you haven't already...it can be a litte time consuming, but well worth it....

Bumbo baby!

Kate's first time in the bumbo....actually she is the first of my babies to use one sine they are newer to the baby scene (and thanks Mary Claire for sharing:)...couldn't get a smile this morning!!

She's in heaven....

On Sunday before she died on Thursday, baby Kate laid there with her in the hospital bed for an hour! And Memaw gave her a special "faith, hope, love" necklace.

We lost a special part of our family this weekend (July 23, 2010) and we celebrated her life today....Memaw (Mr. Bobby's mother) was a fine christian women (and proud Presbyterian at that), a loving mother and grandmother, a professional cake baker, she loved to listen to her christian music and read the bible. She opinionated and stubborn, quiet, but strong. I was blessed to know her for the last 16 years and have enjoyed hearing stories about her in the years prior to that. She was sooo proud of our new baby girl, her namesake, and wanted to see her every chance she could. I am so glad she was able to meet her. Her best friend told me at the funeral, "Little Kate has a lot to live up to!" Lane and Bo had their first real "funeral experience" with Memaw's death and they handled everything so well. Lots of questions and lots of growth in knowledge of their Savior. After I prayed with them the night she died, Lane said, "She just heard everything you said because she is up there with God!" and tonight when Bo prayed he ended it with "I love you Memaw." They certainly believe she is sitting in heaven with Jesus right now.

XX or XY?

Okay, well for some reason the picture is upside down, but anyway....Lane and Bo have played A LOT together this summer....
If you were given these little power ranger figures, what would you do with them?? Would you bang them together with the "bad guys" so hard that paint chips off and sail them through the air as they attack, and talk to them about their missions to defeat t he "bad guys".......or would you nicely organize them into their families (the mom, dad, son and daughter) and tell the dad to go to the store to get some medicine for the sick little girl who's "throwing up"? These poor power rangers are confused in the Dawson house......Have a great Friday!

My "baby boy' is 5...

Yes, that's what I call him often.."baby boy"...he doesn't even tell me he doesn't like it....because I always tell him to "never leave me" and "always be my baby boy"...he tells me he will. remind me to tell his girlfriend/wife that in about 20 years!! We celebrated with a great party with friends, Jonah and Benjamin, at the Ripley waterpark and with a little family party on this birthday, July 16th. Both were complete with "Ben 10 cakes" designed by Bo...he spent about an hour on the internet looking at Ben 10 cakes...he loves birthday cakes- always the highlight of the party (along with goody bags) for him!

He spent hours designing this little cake... that is his favorite part of birthday parties (&the goody bags)!

Bo, What can I say...you will always be my special boy...I really think you look and act like me...not exactly the 'rule follower' your daddy and sister are...a little more daring and adventurous. FULL of energy, a collector (like your friend Jonah, I think that's why you guys like each other so much), you always have a toy in your hand and are always seeking out the next one you need to get from walmart. (I do make you earn them!!) you make me laugh and cry all at the same time! you love mcdonald's happy meals for the toy...cheeseburger with apples (mom's choice) and a sprite. You can take your bath by yourself now(with some supervision of course). you love to do "art projects" and you have just gotten into baseball recently. You love your "cool clothes" (athletic shorts and sleeveless shirts). You are a great swimmer. You also whine a lot and like to "wrestle fight" (which keeps you in trouble). you say you want to be a "wrassle fighter when you grow up"....You will spend the night with your grandparents (or anyone else for that matter..) at the mention of it...never fearful of being away from me (you did not get that from me!) But you do like to come home to your momma and I love it when you kiss me...it's the only time you are actually gentle and kiss me so sweet. You love your sisters so much...although you fight with Lane, you can't stand for her to get in trouble or anyone to be mean to her. You kiss "KK" about 50 times a day and hate it when she cries! I pray you will continue to grow to know Jesus as your friend and savior and that you will always know how much I love you! Momma

PS- for the memory...I got paged in Target today because he got "lost"..I was standing at the Starbucks in the front and he was at the front door and someone took him to the service desk before I could get him....that boy is going to give us more gray hairs than we need!

"A Kid Trip"

The parents in the photos below need a vacation to follow up the "kid trip" we just took! 3 days at a "The Wilderness" waterpark, 2 days exploring the strip at Gatlinburg....whew....it's over! Rob kept reminding me that the kids were having a great time!!

Hudson came to swim with us at the hotel...he was lots of fun! The only kid I know who can go down a waterslide and manage not to go under the water when he comes out!

Some memories from the trip....
Somewhere between Jackson and Nashville on the way up, Bo said, "It takes to long to get here!" then on the way back, as we were getting close to Covington, he said "Dad, are we getting back to our world now, or are we still in that other world??" (city!) He loved the bucket that poured thousands of gallons of water on him every few minutes and loved "fighting" the water.

Lane learned how much she likes to listen to music on my Iphone- she kept it much of the time with headphones in her ears...looked like a little 13 year old! She got her hair "braided" with beads by the braid lady at the waterpark. She loved the surfing.

Kate hung with us well, but had had enough by day 4!

I loved riding the waves with the kids in the wavepool and everyone getting baths and going to bed at night!

Rob loved the aquarium and the trolley system up there!! (that's not exactly true..the long story that goes witht he trolley is the fact that we decided to ride the trolley from our hotel (the Doubletree Park Vista...which I highly recommend by the way!) to downtown to get to the Aquarium because parking was difficult....so we did and on the way back, it poured down rain on us while walking to the trolley stop (from what had been an crazy day at Ober Gatlinburg...I hop they think about renovating soon, I don't think they've changed a thing since the 60's or so when that thing was built!!!). Kate in her stroller was the only one who stayed dry...then we had to wait 45 minutes on the next trolley! Memories...I guess!!
