2 crazy kids and 1 crazy mom!

The Wisconsin Dells waterslides were awesome, but hey, this $10 slip and slide (thanks Uncle Dave) is hard to beat!

My little shy Laylay really strutted for the camera tonight, I don't know what got into her, but I kind of liked it! She is too much like her daddy usually (more reserved and quiet)....a good thing most days, but everyone needs to let loose every now and then!

So, then the crazy momma got the shampoo and gave them baths! (No, we did not take another bath when we got inside, for those moms out there who are wondering!!) We just dried off and put on pj's!

Weekend Getaway

Pictures from a weekend trip to St. Louis.... (this post is just my last one added to for scrapbook purposes)
A sold out Cardinals game!

A Room with a View:

I know, 2 vacations in month is a little much, but trips are my hobby, I always tell Rob if I could be anything (career wise) I would be a travel agent! Rob and I are back at the Four Seasons in St. Louis....I am so frugal (tight!!) that I try to find the cheapest ways to do the best things (most of you who know me well can vouch for that!). I got a great deal on this awesome hotel, and have shopped Craigslist for cheap Cardinal's tickets, found which restaurants have early evening dinner specials (like 1/2 price!), etc..... Anyway, I don't think I have had a pedicure since we got married, it was soooo nice! We just ordered room service for lunch (one dinner to share, frugal (cheap!), and are headed to the pool. It is blazing hot here just like at home. I miss my babies, but just called to check on them, and I don't think they are missing us too bad; what's better than being spoiled by 4 grandparents all weekend! Life is good, so I will just enjoy today and try to remember that on Monday when I am back to the grind. I know many of my friends are on vaca this week or are about to head out...hope you have a great trip!

Lane-isms

While I was gone to a meeting last night, Lane asked Rob for some pears (from a can). He fixed them for her and she ate them all. Then Bo said he wanted some, so Lane went into the pantry and couldn't find anymore pears. So, she came out with a can of fruit cocktail in her hand, and said, "well, Bo you can have some fruit cottontail!"

She calls root beer "Groot beer."

And if she says these things in front of you, I wouldn't try to argue with her about the correct way to say them....I promise you won't win the argument! She will give you a look as if you are crazy and eventually stop arguing with you because she is certain that she is not going to be able to convince you that you are wrong. Oh, so like her daddy!!

Father's Day prayer

"Dear God,
Thank you for mommy, daddy, Lane. And thank you for father's day cause I love daddy the most today. Tomorrow I can love mommy and daddy both, but today I love daddy the best 'cause it's father's day. Amen."

Then, his prayer last night:

"Dear God,
Thank you for mommy and daddy. 'Cause on father's day I loved daddy the best, but now I love mommy and daddy too, but when it was father's day I loved daddy the best. Amen"

I think the boy understands what you do on Father's day!!! He kept telling David and Hunter (Rob's brothers) that if they got married then he could tell them happy father's day!

Thank you Daddy for the love that you show me in so many ways.

Thank you Rob for loving our children, the most important thing you can do as a father.

Coming Home

Getting up at 4:30 for a 10 hour drive home is never as fun as getting up for a 10 hour drive TO vacation! We are on the road and about 8 hours from home (yeah, I am blogging in the car with our new Verizon internet!)
We spent our last few days doing an indoor waterpark and shopping. We went to dinner at a Riverwalk restaurant on the Wisconsin river last night. It was really beautiful. We asked Lane and Bo what their favorite thing was and they both said, "playing with Reagan and going to the waterpark." My favorite part was sitting on the deck and reading. Rob says his favorite part was the waterparks.
Thank you momma and daddy for a wonderful vacation! The food was great, the weather was great, but the time with family was the best. We are already talking about coming back next year!

The Wisconsin Dells

Let me make a family vacation recommendation: The Dells! (It's a really long drive, but worth it.) We are staying at Lake Delton in a great condo. We have awaken to this beautiful view, sun, and 80 degree weather every day. This is the waterpark capital of the world, and we went to "Noah's Ark" (the worlds largest waterpark) on Sunday. It was awesome. Our little family stayed there from 9:00-5:00, needless to say the kids were asleep when we put them in the car! Everyone else joined us around lunch time. Rob, Jason, and I stayed late (while mom, dad, and Michele took the kids back) and did all of the adult rides. It was like being a kid again! Do you remember going to Adventure River and dreading the "Jaronemo" slide??? Well I did it...and I am sure this one was even taller! Probably for the last time in my life (since I will be 30 soon!) We even got Chad on a few waterslides, which was a challenge, but he loved every minute of it. Yesterday we went out on a pontoon and grilled hotdogs. We took a swim in Lake Delton, which is actually like swimming in melted snow. But Rob pushed me in, so I made the kids push him in...see picture below! The kids are loving spending time with Reagan and JJ and Chele. More pictures to come, these are from the first 3 days, I can't believe we have 4 more days, I have NEVER been on a 7 day vacation as long as I can remember. I am really enjoying reading "The Shack" (thanks Kate) on the deck in the mornings. Unfortunately, the weather is about to get a little rainy, but we have the indoor waterparks and outlet malls to do!

The new "Zingo" game Ellie got for the kids.

Some cool power ranger moves in the pool!

The boys downstairs grillin some steaks...

Fighting with Uncle JJ!
