Girls sleepovers

Some of these are old pictures, but I never stay up to par on posting, so....

These gals had to hang with us for a night while their momma healed up from a car wreck...that little ABC, she's a sweet thing...when I asked her if she wanted to sleep with the girls or Ms. Laura, she said, "Miss Wawa!" 

We had a spring sleepover before Kate was born with Lane's friends....

Kate- 6 months

She is still a smiley, sweet little baby girl!  But, she has only slept all night probably 10 times in her sweet little life!  Oh well, one day.  She is sitting up good, rolling to get where she needs to go, not crawling at all.  There are too many folks that will hand her what she wants to be very motivated to pull herself over there.  She has this sweet little fuzzy hair and a double crown.  Her hair is so different from Lane and Bo's.  She eats her baby food, but she doesn't just LOVE it like I remember the other two.  She likes to watch teh tubling tigger tumble across the floor.  She has gone to 2 Tiger football games and one Tiger basketball game and never cried a single minute in any of them (we were at one game for like 6 hours!!).  She loves to watch Lane and Bo run around and she follows them with her eyes wherever they go.

First time bowling

I have one of those Memphis Coupon books we bought from Lane's school fundraiser (but I pretty much always keep one of these around....for me, it is so much fun to save money, find a bargain, it's a talent/hobby of mine! Yeah, sick, I know...anyway, another good thing about it, is it helps us eat places we haven't and go places we haven't before...you know venture out! Well we used our "Cordova Bowling" coupon a few weeks ago and it was really great.  A 1 hour activity that the kids were independent at (Kate in her stroller, no bowling for her!) and Rob and I got a little competive with each other...yeah, he pulled out the win, but not by much and we both bowled over 200 which is really pretty good, I think I had 4 or 5 strikes and he had 6 or 7! Anyway, I recommend it for anyone with kids over maybe 5!

This was  a summer sciene project thanks to Ellie and Flo (Aunt Florence)...she had tadpoles in her landscape pond and gave us some to grow into frogs...the did well at first but only 2 turned into frogs, I think the small dwelling place in our bucket was hard on them.  But it was really fun to watch them grow back legs, then front legs, then be a frog!

I know this bow looks ridiculous on her...I just keep trying to put them on her, but she is just not a bow baby...yet! But I will keep trying

Kate Ellen's baptism....A Mother's Prayer

What a wonderful day! Kate was baptized at our church, First Pres. Covington on 9/26/2010.  Our minister Rev. Dr. Scott Sealy baptized her and was assisted by Rev. Ricky Lyle, a dear friend.  Holly sang a verson of "My Wish".  We celebrated with great friends and family at our house for lunch. 

She is a child claimed by God, and she is part of His family and the church, sealed in the sacrament of baptism. We pray that she will take the faith as her own in the coming years....I look forward to the days of confirmation. I have always loved a phrase that one of my former pastor used often "May she never know a day when Jesus Christ is not real to her." 

I love to listen to music...and especially Christian music- it can really make your day much brighter to hear lyrics that remind us of our faith.  At Lane's baptism, Holly sang "Amazing Love", which is a wonderful song of God's love for us and it made me think of how God loved her before I could! At Bo's, she sang "A Mother's Prayer"....well just listen and you will see why!  I listened to this song today and couldn't hold back tears....click to listen for yourself!

Tiger Lane (and Bo and Kate!)

We had a blast at the first football game (and win) of the season..against  MTSU!  Tiger Lane is really great and Bo really loved watching every play of the whole football game, he is really learning the game behind sports these days!  Can't wait till Saturday....nothing like football in the fall!  And Kate was a trooper (she hung with us from 1:00-10:00 and we didn't leave the game till it was over...we even stayed for the fireworks show! To top it off, Rob and I were watching the "Larry Porter Show" Sunday night and who did we see running the football...BO!  They filmed a little in Tiger Lane to show it off and they filmed him!  He was so proud when we showed him!

Staycation

With 5 kids under the age of 6...mom and dad opted for a "staycation" this year, instead of taking us on a trip! Probably wise...mom had lots of activities planned and the kids loved being together so much.  We did lots of swimming, playing outside in the waterslide/baby pool, golf cart rides, and eating daddy's good food. We even watched some old home movies.  It was definitely crazy with that many kids (and Kate was less than 3 months old!)...not to mention Jay and Michele ended up having to drive down because the flights were so crazy...but it was a good time!

We celebrated all the kids birthdays together since we don't usually see each other on their actual birthdays with a  "Grankid" birthday cake (but it was really Ellie's birthday!
