A beautiful Easter Weekend

What a beautiful Easter weekend. We had lots of things going on...3 egg hunts, a birthday party, a trip to Memphis...Rob and I gave the kids bibles for Easter and we read the Easter story from their new bibles Easter morning, which I hope maybe will become a tradition.  I really liked it.  It sure helped emphasize Christ's resurrection to them and to us.  What a beautiful day with our God given family to celebrate.  I took tons of pictures this weekend, but I don't think I got one that I really liked (and Bo kept saying "why do you keep taking so many pictures?") and I kept saying...because you won't look at the camera!!! It's just where we are...getting a great family pic is an act of congress! 

This is really how the photo session went..., thats why the top one is considered the best one and Rob is talking (I am sure he was threatening Bo!!)

This picture makes me tear up..how sweet...she actually comes "back to herself" when she sees these kids!

We had lots of fun at the C's for a fish fry/egg hunt. The flashlight egg hunt was lots of fun and the fish was great as usual!

ABC held on to this basket all night and wouldn't let anybody touch it..it was precious. She hunted eggs for 3 hours non stop!

These were from Friday when we went to the new playground at Shelby Farms (it just opened last week)...it was incredible!!! highly recommended for a beautiful spring day with nothing to do!!

The last first...(Kate is 1!)

Well, unless God has other plans for us, tonight we celebrated our last first birthday party! Kate turned 1 today and because we were off for spring break we were able to celebrate on her actual birthday.  Because she is the third and I have done 2 other first birthdays...I wanted to keep it small!  I have figured out that it is hard to not be stressed out when you are trying to prepare for 50 people.  I think we succeeded..it was low key and simple with some fabulous Dr. Seuss decorations.  It was the cutest, easiest "theme" I have ever done in the 13 birthdays I have had for my kids!  We had pizza, cake, fruit, some awesome "Ms. Baughes" cake.  Kate was her usual self..mostly happy, but greatly opinionated!  She threw a fit when I took "her cake" away from her.  Here are some pics and a letter for her at the bottom.

This picture was taken a couple of weeks ago when Kate's friend, Sebastian (who shares a birthday with her) came to visit and brought her a very special gift (an autographed Dick Vitale book..it reads.."to Kate, Awesome baby!"

The best surprise of the night for me..Kas came!! She surprised me! 

Dear KK (Kate Ellen),

You are such a blessing to this family.  You are soon about to be spoiled absolutely rotten!  Everyone (except your daddy and myself:) caters to your every desire!  You have learned to communicate by holding your hand out and pointing to what you want or the direction you want to go in.  You love to eat (especially fruit..watermelon, strawberries).  You are off the bottle and drinking milk from a cup.  You climb up the ladder on our little tykes (3 step) slide and slide down by yourself and slide down.  Your most favorite hobby is riding in the little "car" outside.  you take your paci to go to sleep and I am debating about taking it away. You also sleep with "sheep" and "blankie".  You look like Bo and you look like Lane (I really think you look like me:)  You say  "Bo, Lane, Momma, Dada, Boo, (you try "Ellie"), bite, something that sounds like "whodat? or "wantdat" You weigh 18 pounds.  You can "love the baby" and "kiss the baby".  You try to put your socks on your feet and your bow in your hair.  Smart, sweet, sassy.....just a pure blessing to us.  We love you and look forward to seeing this little personality develop over the next year!

Lane is 7!

I love Bearenstain Bear books...collected them as a child and still collecting! They always have such a great lesson, so I love reading them with the kids.  Well, remember the one titled "Too Much Birthday"...that might describe Lane's 7th this year!!  not that she acted like sister bear, but I think we definitely had a little too much birthday...we started by last fall she said she wanted to redecorate her room (which was princesses) and so I suggested we do it for her birthday and she agreed.  Then, my brother moved to Atlanta in January and when he did so, I promised to take her to the American Girl store there for her birthday (we have done Chicago a couple of times, but we thought a new venue would be lots of fun and a great excuse to see family).  Well, to show off her new room she wanted to have her best buds spend the night....so we did! And then to top it off we had a small party with some girlfriends to watch a move and eat popcorn (I told her it couldn't cost money...and it really didn't). You know me, I love a social event, so I guess I just lived vicariously with her through her birthday.  I enjoyed each celebration and really the only hard part was redecorating the room!! She lost her first 2 teeth right before her birthday too.  I love you LaBug!!!
